I don’t like big upping myself nor am I the type to brag about myself, and that has hurt me

Rarely do I post my successes online because, uh, who likes to see someone doing better than them? I also have crazy anxiety, so I was raised to be hyper-successful which I did without any issues, but that has kept me from growing my brand.

Yep, like a majority of Americans, have a full-time job and a side hustle. I’m trying to have more than one but try being successful with two toddlers who love their mum. The Hustling Hotties Society has changed a lot of what I do and how I think about myself.

I met Janelle on Facebook about a year ago while pregnant to do a challenge about growing a side hustle. I knew I needed to have something going while I was on maternity leave with only 60% of my paycheck.

At the time, I had two different personal startups and hustled through VIPKID. I knew that I wasn’t going to be super successful with VIPKID, mainly because I was pregnant and was going to have a newborn. I needed to sleep and try to get better. My first startup was a data entry business where I would track my clients’ information.

That included bills, organizational information, etc. It failed. I know why: I’m not a people person and contacting people was not my thing. I had never failed, and it hurt. I saw at that time that Janelle was offering a new challenge and wanted to talk to some of us about it.

Janelle offered me a chance to work with her redrafting some information to help her in that challenge.

While working with her, I was more into the Hustling Hotties group. The engagement helped me get to know new people and see successes. I also noticed that many of these women worked full time, had full-time families and still were doing well.

I began to focus and stay determined by looking at the group posts, talking to the members more and working towards growing my second startup.

When the holidays came around, Janelle gave us branding tips, and I tried some out. The members of HHS helped because I got my first TWO full paid orders from them for ear warmers. I felt…..so HAPPY. I knew that I could do it and that Bravehearted Crochet would grow and continue to thrive.

The past few months I’ve fallen off keeping up with the group which has kept me from reaching my potential. Seeing the continued successes from others and Janelle has helped me start working again towards growing my brand and I know that the Hustling Hotties Society is a family that wants me to continue to grow and develop.

How Hustling Hotties Helped Kerry Build Her Own Business

I have worked with several different clients since I started my business coaching. One of them is Kerry Ann Singh. She was, like the rest of us, a full-time corporate employee before she decided to take on the side-hustle idea of tutoring full time.

I met Kerry Ann through an ad I posted on domestic help website care. Due to an overflow of work in my tutoring business, I needed to hire more tutors. The day that I met Kerry Ann, I had also interviewed several other tutors, but none of them struck me the way that Kerry Ann did. I hired her on the spot. She confided to me that she had just left corporate America to start tutoring full time.

Kerry Ann is a part-time tutor and had part-time clients -which in the tutoring world meant about 10 to 15 hours a week. For an individual who just left her corporate job for a month, she wasn’t doing badly at all. Kerry Ann talked to me about her plans as a tutor.  She also wanted tutoring to be a business, but she felt she still wasn’t where she wanted to be in her new career. I have once been in her shoes, and as she sought my advice on how she could be on her own, I helped every step of the way.

I then walked her through several different steps to address her problems. We sat and thoroughly discussed her visions and plans. After the consultation, the first step in the process is to get as many clients as quickly as possible. I met Kerry Ann in September 2014, and then two months after, she was working 50 hours a week. During the testing season, she had already overbooked with more than 60 hours per week. She began to hire additional tutors to handle the overflow of students.

When the summer came around, we implemented a summer program that she can offer to her current students, and I helped her market it. It yielded great results! She worked on her desired schedule for the summer and earned precisely as she wanted. We decided during the summer to take her business to the next level, to create something that will enable her to manage her time better.  So I built her a website called http://thebumblebeezs.com.

On this site, she became a homeschool teacher, and the students came to her in a central location. We included a bio about her, her list of services, testimonials from current clients, and her contact information. I also created a marketing plan for her to ensure that she will become profitable with this new idea.

Kerry-Ann left a testimonial on my site at www.janelleajones.com, stating: “I am currently using Janelle as my consultant to help set up my business. She managed everything for me. I did not know where to start, how to get an EIN, nor how to set up a website.
